Meet The Baker

Thank you so much for taking interest in my bakery and who I am. My name is Katie, I'm a stay at home mom to two beautiful girls. I started Sweet Moments Bake Shop in December of 2021 when my family and I were living in Michigan just after our second daughter was born. Ive always loved baking and being creative. Growing up my mom always made my sister and I the most extravagant birthday cakes and now I hope to do that for my own children but also share my talent with you. My baking journey started back in 2014 when I joined the Navy. I was making new friends and missing home so I found comfort in sharing homemade baked goods. After getting out of the Navy my boyfriend and I moved in together to our little home in Bremerton, WA. We welcomed our first daughter in October of 2019. During the lock down of 2020 I was a brand new mom in basically a brand new world. Just like everyone else at the time, I perfected my banana bread recipe and many others. I got my first stand mixer during this time and so a whole new baking experience was available to me. I made my daughter's first birthday cake that following October and while it was a very simple cake with many flaws I was so proud of myself. From here the baking bug bit me and I just couldn't stop. All kinds of cookies, pies, cakes and cupcakes were always in the kitchen. January of 2021 my family and I made the move all the way across the U.S. back to my home state of Michigan. Just as soon as getting settled in we found out I was pregnant again. Through the spring, summer and into fall I kept my self busy with a small toddler and baking for any occasion that I could. I decided It would be a blessing to share my love, talent and passion with the community. Thus Sweet Moments Bake Shop was born. After three wonderful years of baking for the community of Alpena we have decided to relocate once again to my husbands home state of North Carolina. I'm very excited to start this new journey and meeting a whole new community. Many people know, recommend and keep coming back to me because I provide that missing piece your looking for to make all the special moments in life just a little bit more sweet.
